With support and patronage from the Chief Commissioner of Welikada Prison, and the officers Mr. Chandana Ekanaya, Mr. Piyasiri Watagoda, and Mr. Fazeer Lahir, the charity is planning to donate a special lunch on 24th August 2018, for 450 female inmates at Welikada prison. This offer will be followed by an entertainment performance.

Ever conscious and going into its depth Buddika Kadurugamuwa Foundation will also donate a pack of sanitary essentials to these ladies at Welikada Prison.

“Devagiriya” and “Piduruwella” are two very rural villages in the Matale District. These villages are very remote, rural and poor, they do not have proper toilet and sanitary facilities. After studying the infrastructure, Buddhika Kadurugamuwa Foundation has decided to initially donate Rs. 500,000.00 to put up 10 new toilets to toilet-less homes and renovate existing toilets. The charity will assist to introduce a proper toilet and sanitary facility for these rural villagers.

Buddika Kadurugamuwa Foundation is also planning to develop a 10 acre farm in Watawala, in Nuwara Eliya District. The farm will produce only organic food products. Foundation is planning to move across for this project with the two aims in mind. While also generating job opportunities to nearby villagers and uplifting their livelihood, the farm will produce healthy organic food free from fertilisers, weedicides and pesticides. The charity is also planning to assist children to pursue their education in the nearby villages. This project is currently at its implementation stage and by the end of this year plans have been made to get the basic infrastructure ready so the project is in force from early 2019.
