Today is an unprofitable day for Nilusha Wimalasinghe who is a resident of the drought striken village of Bisobandara which is located in the Kaudulla Electorate in Medirigiriya.

School students at Unnapilau Primary School in Mulliyawalai, parents of students and teachers on Wednesday (16) received school accessories and dry ration packets respectively as incentives following coordination done by the 592 Brigade.
Buddika always remember the smile in the children’s eyes and nothing makes her happier than making a small child’s world happier. In 2014 July foundation organised the much eagerly awaited school excursion to Capital city of Colombo. Foundation, shoulder the responsibility of welfare and security. Back again 59th Regiment of Sri Lanka Army, extend their hand with Security and Shelter.
Recent visit to Welikada prison, where female inmates are staying with their underage children revealed that the mattress used by these kids are very old, spoiled and contaminated with poor hygienic conditions. Buddika kadurugamuwa Foundation donated 16 Arpico triple layer mattress on 13th July 2018, for the use of these innocent kids.
Co-Founder received a letter from 14 year old Chandrika living in Thalawakele. She has ardently written her poor plight, of her parent’s poverty and requested to assist for their education. Buddika’s belief is that “It’s a child’s right to be educated” and she helped Chandrika and her sister by providing all the requirements for their new School year 2016. Also she donated dry rations for the kid’s parents bringing a ray of hope for them.
Ever concerned, Buddika believes it’s her obligation and duty to give something back to her country where she was born and bred. Not only the marginalised communities, she’s supporting the fighters of cancer. Her foundation understands the pain of those who fight from the side-lines from this faceless decease until it invade the body. As such she donates goods to the children’s ward annually.
In 2013, Capital Investment for a loan system was donated to a community society of war widows in Jaffna and Wanni area. Society, offered an interest free capital loan for them to start their own business and be self-employed while nurturing & looking after their kids. Once they established themselves they settled the loan in instalments. This fund is utilised again and again to help other such women to gain their own grounds and stand on their own feet.
During the heavy drought prevailed in Pollonnaruwa, a lady in Madirigiriya, after facing the numerous hardships of living without water, decided to dig a well all by herself. This hard effort was reported in “Ada” Newspaper, after learning this, ever helpful Buddika Kadurugamuwa, contacted the provincial reporter, and with his coordination donated the required sum to this poor lady with the kind patronage of actress Semini Iddamalgoda and Co-Founder of the foundation Monohari Hewawasam.
A lady who was shot during the war and suffering for a long time with an acute spinal injury, was donated funds to build Sanitary facilities for her use without a hindrance and difficulty.
Buddika needs to give more to children affected by the brutal war, children who had been deprived of their very basic right of proper education, was given a chance to start their education back again. After building a school, Foundation supported them with educational material, school books, stationery etc. and also helped parents by providing them with dry rations and daily essentials.
Compassionately considering the plight of Unnappulavu Tamil School, in 2010 December, Buddika Kadurugamuwa Foundation, donated total cost for the re-construction of the School which was destroyed during the ethnic civil war prevailed in the northern peninsula of Sri Lanka. Man power for this noble project was provided by the 59th regiment of Sri Lanka Army and the Concept Guidance was given by the 5th Regiment Sri Lanka Army Signal Corps.
