Today is an unprofitable day for Nilusha Wimalasinghe who is a resident of the drought striken village of Bisobandara which is located in the Kaudulla Electorate in Medirigiriya.
Nilusha who lives in Medirigiriya undertook a daily routine of descending thirty feet in to the well to obtain water for her family.
After having seen this report on News1st, Buddhika Kadurugamuwa, a lawyer by profession, and a resident in England, gave monetary relief to Nilusha.
Two actresses arrived at Nilusha’s house to make the donation and were left in disbelief after having seen the depth of the well. Nilusha a mother who was unable to bear the tears of her children was left with no choice but to descend into the well to quench their thirst in such harsh conditions.
Nilusha Wimalasinghe said:
"They gave me this money and requested me to dig the well deep enough so that it would be able to endure over seven droughts and I would not have to descend into the well again. I would like to thank Sirasa TV for their assistance."
